The Chief Joe Mathias Centre is a full-service recreation and community facility operated by the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), located at 100 Capilano Road in West Vancouver, BC. Named in honour of Chief Joe Mathias, a celebrated leader and advocate for the Squamish Nation, the centre has been a gathering place for the community since 1992.
Our facility features a full-size gymnasium, weight room, group fitness studio, and the ḵw'esḥkw'shétsutay (Playing Place), a covered multi-sport facility available for drop-in play and private bookings. We offer registered programs for all ages, from toddler playgroups and youth sports leagues to adult fitness classes and elder-led cultural activities.
Financial assistance programs are available to all Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw community members.
